Learning to Keep Sabbath
Where did I feel resistance?

Again, lots on my mind of tasks to do that I didn’t complete before sabbath.  There were many things that I could have easily engaged in during my sabbath, so it was a battle to fight the urge to do so.  It is a great reminder that sabbath is NOT just a day off to rest and recharge, rather it’s time unto the LORD.  I’m still working on it.

Where did I feel delight?

You heard the saying that “humans are social creatures,” which is true. But it’s more than “social,” in that the people who God has placed in your life also shape who you are. I don’t think that the main point is to curate who you associate with like some clique in school.  Instead, allow God to give you His heart, eyes, and ears for people to whom you will be a neighbor.  For me, this has placed me into relationships with people I might be quite different from, but there’s something that God intends and that should be good enough for me, and it is.

Where did I most experience God’s nearness?

Solitude.  Silence.  If you want to hear God, I know of no better way to listen and speak with God than in Solitude and Silence.
