I started Sabbath 2 hours late this week as I like to finish as many tasks as possible before the Sabbath. I extend 2 hours on the back-end though. I’m not sure if this is cheating the Sabbath if I still get the 24 hour period. What do you think? Send me an email: [email protected].
Another week of “boom,” downloads from God. I filled several journal pages today. It was so good. This is one of those special seasons in the mystery of God that I’ve come to just enjoy it for what it is and when it’s happening. My prayer is that this would continue.
A verse jumped out at me this week, “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” (John 14: 2, NIV). The operative word for me is rooms. Our God has a room with our name on it. How amazing is that? A room is a place personal to you. It’s a place where you can belong. It’s a place where you can be all who God created you to be and be a part of His family, in His house, under His protection and guidance. It’s a place where you dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Psalm 23: 10) This then reminded me of “When they [the apostles] arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying.” (Acts 1: 13, NIV). Again, a room. This verse in Acts is where we get the place called the “Upper Room” as the description where the first church met and gathered constantly in prayer and where they were filled with the Holy Spirit. From that moment on, the rest as they say, is history (and continues until today)!
