Gentle waves at the ocean's surface
Trusting God’s Timing
Where did I feel resistance?

This week, I wrestled with the urge to rush projects and outcomes. Even as I felt that resistance, I reminded myself that as long as I remain aligned with God, He will work everything out in His perfect timing. This tension between impatience and trust is part of our journey, and I take comfort in knowing that God’s plan unfolds exactly as it should.

Where did I feel delight?

Nature. Science is a wonderful tool that helps us understand our world, yet we must be careful not to let it overshadow the majesty and divinity of God revealed in nature. When you witness a sunrise, feel a cool trade wind, listen to the birds chirping, or bask in the warmth of the ocean, take a moment to marvel at the Creator behind it all—a mystery that science can only hint at, never fully explain.

Where did I most experience God’s nearness?

Having finished another book in my Sabbath library, I’ve now added Invitation to a Journey by M. Robert Mulholland Jr., upon Pastor Mark’s recommendation. Though I’m only two chapters in, I’ve already tabbed a lot!

One profound concept stands out: spiritual formation is about being rather than doing. The spiritual disciplines we practice—Sabbath, Solitude, Prayer, Fasting—aren’t meant to achieve “higher-level” spiritual results but to allow God to work in us.

The key is surrender. We don’t transform ourselves to become Christlike; rather, we become more like Christ as we let the Holy Spirit to shape us from the inside out. When we embrace this transformation, our actions naturally reflect who we are in Christ, rather than serving as a means to an end.

This shift in perspective is deeply convicting. I’m looking forward to all that this journey of spiritual formation will reveal!
