Does Every Human Life Matter?

Exploring the worth and purpose of each person.

by Pastor David Oyadomari

Question

Does every human life matter?

Reflection

Life was created with intention and purpose. Knowing this, we can deduce that every person is part of something that began with purpose.

Considering the uniquely detailed and profound complexities of nature and the world, it is safe to say that every atom, star, and living thing was created with precision and care by a Creator. Similarly, every person, regardless of circumstance or status, bears the mark of that same creative intention. Our differences — in culture, ability, story, or experience — do not lessen our worth. Conversely, our differences reveal the depth and imagination of the One who made us. The truth remains that human life reflects something sacred. The fact that we can think, love, create, and care for others hints that we were shaped with purpose.

Thus, the answer to wondering if every human life matters is not merely philosophical— it’s deeply personal.
If every person is a product of intention, then every life carries inherent value. None are extra, none are expendable, and none are without meaning.

Takeaway

If all life has purpose, then every life has purpose. Every human life, whether that life is your neighbor, friend, stranger, or enemy, is a reflection of creation itself — unique, intentional, and necessary.
To see that truth in others is to begin seeing the heart of what it means to live with purpose.
