“Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”
Luke 5: 15-16, NIV”
This week we begin The Solitude Practice through June 9th. I’m very excited about this because it dovetails so well with The Sabbath Practice that we just went through. As we keep practicing the Sabbath to make space (in time) in our lives to place God first, Solitude will build in us what we are to do with that space (in time) to commune with God. Have you ever prayed to hear God’s voice or to experience the Holy Spirit?
Jesus often went into the “eremos” (Greek word for: the desert, the deserted place, the desolate place, the solitary place, or the quiet place) to spend time in the quiet with God. It’s an intentional act to find silence and stillness in order to enter into a more intimate relationship with God.
